Mont Destin is our inspirational, family-run boutique wine farm
situated on the world renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route in the winelands of the
Western Cape.
After falling in love in 1995 and searching for a home, we discovered this
magical piece of land with beautiful views of the Table Mountain. So we named it
our "Mountain of Destiny".
We passionately handcraft small quantities of highly acclaimed exclusive and
elegant wines. We specialize in Shiraz, Rhone inspired red blends and Chenin
Blanc.
The Destiny Shiraz Limited Editions are a world first combining diamonds and
gold coins with wine, which make these wine gift boxes some of the most valuable
and sought after in the world.
In our quest to be daringly different we offer the only open air wine bath set
amongst the vineyards.
We invite you to share in our passion and creativity by discovering our wines.
We are open for tasting Mondays to Fridays from 11am to 3pm.

Destiny Diamond & Gold Collection
True elegance and beauty are timeless. Just as the art of winemaking is ancient
and revered, celebrating traditions and talent passed on through the ages, some
of the earth's most precious and sought after natural riches have delighted and
intrigued mankind over the millennia. Mined from deep within this planet's
ancient core, diamonds and gold remain priceless commodities which continue to
dazzle and enthral.
The Destiny Diamond Collection features a magnum (1.5l) of 2006 Destiny Shiraz
with half a carat diamond set in platinum paired with a 750ml 2006 Destiny
Shiraz, packaged in a special presentation case. Only six sets of this
exceptional collector's item are available.
When selecting a diamond it is essential to consider the four C’s, namely cut,
clarity, colour and carat weight. Each Destiny Diamond Collection bottle will
include a diamond certificate, detailing these characteristics as well as the
specific diamond issued and its identification number.
The Destiny Gold Collection features half a dozen magnums of Destiny 2006 Shiraz
adorned with rare gold coins and sovereigns. These include a Dutch 10 Guilders
Gold Coin (1879), an American Memorial Medal (1963), a 20 Franc Swiss gold coin
(1947), a Great British One Pound Sovereign (1909), a South African ¼ Kruger
Rand (1980), a Dutch 10 Guilders Gold coin (1913) and a German 20 Mark gold coin
(1895). Each magnum is paired with a 750ml 2006 Destiny Shiraz in a specially
crafted wine gift box.

Destiny 2010 World Cup Soccer Memento

Destiny Limited Edition by Mont Destin is a winning soccer
memento.
Throughout the ages, gold has been the close companion of champions. Kings have
toasted coronations and battlefield victories with golden goblets in the same
way that sporting heroes are still rewarded with this most desirable of metals.
On home soil, gold's heritage stretches far back into South African history.
Exquisite jewellery and artefacts covered with the precious metal were some of
the key archaeological findings at Mapungubwe, a World Heritage Site in Limpopo
province where a thriving kingdom ruled Southern Africa a thousand years ago.
Gold has also been a cornerstone of modern day South Africa's economy — a
country which for over a century was the world's largest producer.
In this historic year, when the eyes of the world will closely follow the quest
for international supremacy that will unfold on South African soil, Mont Destin
Wine Farm pays homage to the most precious of harvests from that good earth with
the release of their exclusive commemorative Destiny Limited Edition with gold.
This very unusual combination matches the farm's flagship wine, the Destiny
Shiraz, with exclusive 24 carat gold R2 and R1 coins certified by the South
African Mint to celebrate football in South Africa. The coins are mounted on
magnum (1.5l) and standard (750ml) bottles of 2007 Destiny packaged in elegant
presentation cases making the Destiny Limited Edition the perfect investment.
"Adding much lustre to the attraction of investment in gold coins is the highly
impressive price appreciation achieved over the past couple of years," says Alan
Demby, SA Gold Coin Exchange executive chairman. "Gold has, in fact, tripled in
value since 2000. It's not for nothing that gold is regarded as a tangible or
hard asset, or real store of value."
The Destiny Shiraz is renowned for only being produced during exceptional years
and through a particularly intensive process. The 2007 vintage is only the third
to date, following the special releases in 2003 and 2006. The preparation, care
and commitment that goes into making a well-respected, 100% handcrafted wine is
reminiscent of what's required to reign supreme in any field.
"This wine is our flagship. It's the first wine I made myself and that's when I
just fell in love with Shiraz," says Mont Destin co-owner and winemaker Samantha
Bürgin. "This time, it's a memento of a momentous year in South Africa's
history."
The Destiny is voluptuous, intense, sensuous and well-balanced. The complex
taste is layered with rich, ripe red and black berries with hints of pepper and
spice. The tannins are supple and all the components of the wine are in harmony.
The finish is unforgettable.
Our shiraz is the result of a slow, careful and labour intensive production
process which starts with the grapes being handpicked and delivered to the
cellar in small lug boxes. Bunch sorting and final destemming is done by hand
and fermentation is unhurried. A gentle basket-pressing is followed by oak
maturation. The 2007 vintage matured in 3 French oak for 19 months.
After bottling, the 60 magnums and 780 (750ml) bottles were individually
numbered, personally signed and sealed in gold wax with an impression from the
Bürgin family's heirloom signet ring.

Chenin Blanc with 5% Viognier. This elegantly Chenin Blanc has heady aromas of
pineapple, orange blossoms and ripe peaches. It is full bodied and complex with
a fresh lingering finish.

French yeast and fermentation took about 10 days. The wine spent six months on
the lees and was bottled after fining and cold stabilization.

hoisted and opened above a stainless steel fermentation tank. Inoculation with a
French yeast was made after a three day cold soak. Fermentation was slow and
gentle.

Wine bath

Ever dreamt of taking a bath in your favourite Cape red? Now you
and your partner can enjoy a wonderful, relaxing and revitalising wine bath in
the middle of the vineyards with all the luxurious extras. Just get yourself
undressed!
Keeping to their philosophy of great attention to detail, as well as a fresh,
exciting and innovative approach to wine and architecture, Mont Destin Wines
have created an experience not to be missed - a wine bath in Mother Nature au
natural.
The idea was born when Ernest Burgin - owner of this unique African inspired
winery on the doorstep of Stellenbosch - wanted to buy his wife, Samantha,
something out of the ordinary. He found a bin of red wine while rearranging the
cellar and instantly knew he had discovered the perfect gift - a bath in this
wine amidst the vines. A bath was thus bought and installed next to a lapa
surrounded by vineyards.
This vino experience involves soaking in a heady mix of red wine and warm water,
to create an intoxicating and sensual experience. Extras include a bottle of
award winning red wine and towelling gowns.
The wine soak is guaranteed to leave the skin wonderfully soft and silky, to
liberate the mind and to make you feel good about yourself and your body.
With limited availability, this is truly a steal at R1 500 per couple and a
perfect gift for the one you love.
