Riverside Estates is gay friendly and situated on 5 acres in the vibrant harbour village of Hout Bay. This unique retreat is ideal for holidays, business, conferences, team building, weddings and special occasions. The buildings are set out in a lush garden of exceptional beauty. There are three swimming pools, a quiet stream running through the property, secluded areas for silent meditation and relaxation, and a garden gazebo basking in the early morning sun.
The scenic Hout Bay Valley is 25 minutes from the Waterfront and centre of Cape Town, 30 minutes from the airport, and conveniently close to golf courses, wine estates and the beaches of the Atlantic coastline. It's first class restaurants, hiking trails, yachting and boating facilities, and its scenic beauty, make it one of the gems of the Cape Peninsula - a place where every wave is a holiday.

Accommodation

Bed and Breakfast

A Cape Dutch Manor house offers bed and breakfast accommodation. Five classically elegant bedrooms with air-conditioning, mini bars, king size or twin beds with quality percale linen and Juliet balconies. Delicious breakfasts are served in the pleasant and cheerful breakfast room. Living area includes a cosy pub and reading lounge. The sparkling 17 metre pool, set in a terraced garden, will gladden the heart of the sun worshippers.

Our four newly added standard bedrooms offer cozy accommodation and are beautifully decorated with inviting views of our lush garden. Each of the standard bedrooms is equipped with television, tea and coffee stations, internet access and one of them is wheelchair friendly.

Self Catering

We offer the following self-catering accommodation options:

Tree House

Tree House is an enchanting log cabin with fireplace, open plan lounge, two en-suite bedrooms and fully equipped kitchenette. The lounge leads onto a wooden deck overlooking luxurious tropical vegetations, and the stream. A private rock pool lends itself to quiet relaxation.

The Studio Apartments

We have three studio apartments – River, Orchard and Loft – all of them consisting of an en-suite bedroom, cosy television corner and fully appointed kitchenette. Each of the studio apartments looks out onto a secluded and shady garden area. Ideal accommodation for a romantic weekend breakaway, or for a businessman needing peace and seclusion after a hectic day of meetings.

Riverside Estates offer a delightful range of tastefully furnished accommodations in stylish cottages, enhanced
by their natural setting, the magnificent valley of Hout Bay. Each cottage is individually decorated and fully and luxuriously equipped with all the amenities and conveniences which you require. The cottages are all self-contained and set in a lush garden through which a rippling stream weaves artfully.

The main house is a spacious and majestic Cape Dutch homestead, a unique and prestigious guest house establishment. The four upstairs suites each have their own Juliet balcony, offering sweeping views of the mountains which surround the Hout Bay valley. Breakfasts are served in the sunlit dining room, which looks out onto the patio and the elegant Roman style swimming pool. Lothlorien gives new meaning to the concept of refined luxury and tranquility.

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Hout Bay Valley, 25 minutes from the centre of Cape Town, Riverside Estates is the ideal venue for holding workshops and conferences in an environment of unmatched tranquillity.

The conference centre consists of 3 adjoining rooms which can be consolidated into one large room holding up to 140 delegates. The garden, gazebo and pool side area are ideal for breakaway discussions and a wide variety of team building exercises. Menus conference programmes and themed evenings can be tailored to your requirements.

Weddings and Functions

Riverside Estates prides itself as an elegant, special wedding and function venue. Situated in the awesome valley of Hout Bay in a spacious lush green garden, the facility consists of a 6 bed roomed Cape Dutch Manor House, an outdoor gazebo and a function hall which can comfortably seat up to 120 guests. The venue hire includes accommodation in the Manor House for the night of the function, ideal for out of town guests or brides relaxing on the big day. There are 7 additional cottages in this forest-like property that can be rented at an additional cost.

We have flexible menus and packages, which can be tailor-made to suit the individual needs of the bridal couple. Our skilled and experienced team can offer assistance, support and advice on a wide range of aspects relating to the function - menus, photographs, florists, caterers and musicians, to name but a few. Contact us to arrange a site inspection - you will be in awe of this venue.

Wedding Package

We have pleasure in furnishing you with our wedding package and inviting you for a site inspection. Site inspections are done 7 days per week between 08:30 and 17:30 by appointment.
Included in our venue hire is the following:

• Assistance with catering, decor, cakes, flowers, music and the entire extra's

• 6 double bedrooms in the Manor House (4 x luxury of which one is the Honeymoon suite and 1 x standard).  All the rooms include breakfast the following morning

• The pool, gazebo and function hall area

• The venue is yours EXCLUSIVELY from 08:00 on the morning of the wedding

• Our menus start from R200 p/p, and we will design a menu to cater for your needs and budget

• Satellite Cash Bar facilities (Should you wish to bring your own wine/s we charge a R35 Corkage fee)

• Chairs, Crockery, Cutlery, Glasses, 6, 8 and 10 seater round tables, 3 x waitron and 1 x barman
